Tocquigny
Interactive Marketing Intern
Tocquigny is an interactive advertising agency specializing in online strategy and digital media. The agency was ranked in the top two interactive agencies by BtoB Magazine in 2008 and a top 25 interactive agency by Adweek in 2009. The company works with a variety of clients including Dell, Hewlett-Packard, AMD, The Washington Times, Regent University, World Vision, and Caterpillar.
I supported the interactive marketing team with competitive research, customer insights, information architecture, and user experience design for web presence and digital marketing campaigns. The agency would work with clients to identify their needs, verbalize goals, recognize constituents, and craft messaging pillars. We would combine these findings with competitive research on similar companies, market trends, and customer insights to create a content framework, site requirements and specifications, and page by page information architecture. These models act as a blueprint to be combined with the work of our creative and copywriting department before coding and delivery.
I also researched online video advertising trends to provide the agency for new growth opportunities.
Three Phases
Our semester long intern project set the stage for revamping the agency's campus recruiting program. Our goal was to develop customer personas and messaging pillars to target high potential students for internships in the company.
We used Facebook to survey 3rd and 4th year undergrads and graduate students in business and communications at the University of Texas and St. Edward's University. Based on the responses we collected, we were able to identify 3 pyschographic profiles and tailor a communication framework based on their needs and Tocquingy's offerings. Future intern classes will pick up where we left off and use these insights for promotion.
